You can stream your Zoom meeting or webinar to YouTube using a direct integration with Zoom and YouTube or by using a custom streaming destination and a third-party tool like Restream.

Stream Zoom to YouTube

Before you can stream your Zoom meeting to Facebook Live, you must enable live streaming, which requires a paid Zoom account. Note that the following instructions are for starting an unscheduled, spontaneous stream on YouTube. Skip to the next paragraph for instructions on how to stream to a scheduled YouTube event.

1. Sign in to your Zoom account and click Settings.

2. Click the Meeting tab, then click In Meeting (Advanced).

3. Enable Allow livestreaming of meetings.

4. Check the box for YouTube from the platform options.

5. Click Save.

6. Launch a Zoom meeting or webinar.

7. On the bottom control panel in your Zoom meeting or webinar, click More.

8. Click Live on YouTube from the options that appear.

If you want to go live with Zoom to a scheduled YouTube event, you’ll need to connect your Zoom account to a custom streaming destination.

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above.
  2. Check the box for Custom Live Streaming Service. [Note that you’ll need an active YouTube channel for the next steps, and you should already be signed in.]
  3. Access your YouTube studio by going to studio.youtube.com, then click Schedule Stream. [Note that you’ll need access to live streaming on YouTube. If you do not have it, request it. You should be approved within 24 hours.]
  4. Configure the settings for YouTube Live, including adding the title, description, tags and a date and time. Then, click Done.
  5. Your scheduled YouTube event will be created. Under the Stream Settings tab, you’ll see your Stream Key and Stream URL.
  6. Return to your Zoom account and schedule a new meeting.
  7. Select your meeting settings, then click Save.
  8. On the meeting details page, scroll down to the Live streaming options section. Click Configure Custom Streaming Service.
  9. Copy your stream key from YouTube and paste it into the Stream URL field on Zoom. Do the same for your Stream Key.
  10. Go back to your YouTube live stream and click on the share icon on the top right, next to the grayed-out Go Live button.
  11. In the window that appears, copy your video link and then paste it the live streaming page URL field on Zoom.
  12. Once you’ve entered your Stream URL, Stream key, and live streaming page URL on Zoom, click Save.
  13. To start your live streamed event, launch your meeting on Zoom.
  14. On the bottom control panel in your Zoom meeting, click More.
  15. Click Live on Custom Live Streaming Service from the list of options.
  16. Go back to your YouTube live stream dashboard. You’ll see a preview of your stream in the top left (you’re not live yet).
  17. To go live to your scheduled YouTube event, click Go Live in the top-left corner.

Multistream from Zoom to YouTube and other social platforms simultaneously

If you want to broadcast your Zoom meeting to other channels in addition to YouTube, you can use Restream’s multistreaming service.

  1. Log in to your Restream account.
  2. On the Restream dashboard, click Add Destination at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the YouTube Live icon.
  4. Enter your YouTube channel credentials and give Restream access.
  5. Repeat this process for each channel you want to add to Restream.


Once your accounts are connected to Restream, you need to ensure live streaming is enabled for your Zoom account. If it’s not, follow the “Stream Zoom to YouTube” instructions above to enable it. Then, you’ll need to set up a custom live streaming destination in Zoom.

  1. Sign in to your Zoom account and click Settings.
  2. Click the Meeting tab, then click In Meeting (Advanced).
  3. Enable Allow livestreaming of meetings.
  4. Check the box for Custom Live Streaming Service.
  5. Schedule a Zoom meeting by clicking Schedule in the top-right corner. Enter your meeting details and click Save.
  6. On the meeting management page, scroll to the section called Live Streaming and click Configure Custom Streaming Service.
  7. In the window that pops up, you’ll need to enter a Stream URL, Stream key, and Live streaming page URL from Restream.
  8. Open a new browser tab and log in to your Restream account.
  9. Click Set up for OBS, Zoom, etc.
  10. Copy your RTMP URL and paste it into the Stream URL field on Zoom. Copy the Stream key and paste it into the Stream key field on Zoom.
  11. For Live streaming page URL, enter the URL of one of the channels you would like to stream to, such as the URL for your YouTube video. Then click Save.
  12. Start your Zoom meeting.
  13. On the bottom panel containing all the meeting/webinar controls, click More.
  14. Select Live on custom live streaming service from the list of options.

Once your Zoom meeting starts, it will broadcast to all of your selected channels in Restream.

Stream Zoom to YouTube with a free Zoom account

If you don’t have a paid Zoom account, you can still stream a Zoom meeting to YouTube using OBS Studio and Restream.

1. Create a Restream account if you don’t have one.

2. Download OBS Studio from obsproject.com if you don’t already have the software installed. It’s free and open source. [If it’s your first time using OBS Studio, you can read our tutorial for the best OBS streaming settings to get started.]

3. Connect your Restream account to OBS Studio by opening OBS and navigating to Settings.

4. Click the Stream tab on the left side.

5. Click Restream.io - RTMP in the drop-down menu.

6. Click Connect Account. Enter your Restream account credentials.

7. Go to your Restream dashboard and click +Add Channels. From the list of channel options, click YouTube Live. You can also stream to other channels, like Facebook or Twitch, simultaneously using Restream.

8. Enter your YouTube channel credentials so Restream has access.

9. Go back to OBS. On the Sources tab, click Add and then select Window Capture. Name the source something like Zoom meeting and click OK. This will let you specify your Zoom meeting as the video source in OBS. If you are streaming from Zoom to Facebook on a Mac, you also need to install an OBS plug-in called iShowU Audio Capture.

10. In the Window drop-down menu, select [Zoom.exe] and click OK.

11. Start your Zoom meeting.

In OBS, click Start Streaming and your meeting will be live on your YouTube channel.
