What is a bumper video?

A bumper video is a video of six seconds or less that has a short, memorable message and is usually used as an ad. Bumper ads are one type of advertising you can use on YouTube. When you set up bumper ads, a short promotional video will play right before your video starts.

Bumper videos are often used because they can get your brand’s message across with minimal disruption — which is ideal since most of the time, bumper ads aren’t skippable by the viewer.
