What is Telegram Live?

Telegram is primarily a messaging app, but the Telegram Live feature lets you broadcast live videos to Telegram channels and groups with an unlimited number of viewers. During the live video, members of the channel or group can send messages or raise their hand to join the stream themselves. With this feature, you can essentially create your own TV channel using Telegram.

Requirements for going live on Telegram

It doesn’t take much to start live streaming on Telegram. If you meet the basic requirements, you can start streaming right away.

  • You can go live with any Telegram account, even the basic tier
  • You must be the owner or admin of a group or channel to start a stream
  • You can stream from the Telegram mobile or desktop app
  • You can stream to both public and private channels

How to go live on Telegram

You can use the Telegram mobile app to live stream from your phone. You can also stream from the Telegram desktop app, or you can use a third-party streaming software such as Restream Studio or OBS Studio to enhance your Telegram broadcast.
