Restream Studio handles the production in your browser. Choose your camera and microphone, switch to portrait mode for a vertical frame, pick a layout, and add logos, backgrounds, or overlays. Guests join from their own browser with a link. This path suits talk shows, interviews, tutorials, and Q&As, and you don’t need OBS for it. If you stream PC games and rely on advanced game capture, a desktop encoder is the better fit.
Connect your OBS setup to Restream
Already have scenes, sources, and overlays in OBS? Keep them. In this setup, OBS produces the video on your computer and sends it to Restream. Restream then delivers it to TikTok and any other channels you’ve selected, so you can stream to multiple channels from a single OBS output. OBS stays installed on your PC or Mac, and TikTok’s access requirements are the same as with Studio.
Tools for your TikTok live streams
- Vertical layouts: Stream in portrait mode and arrange your camera, guests, and graphics for viewers watching on their phones. Landscape streams appear on TikTok with black bars at the top and bottom.
- Guests: Invite guests to join you on screen with a link that opens in their browser, so co-hosts and interviewees don’t need to install anything.
- Branding and layouts: Add logos, backgrounds, and captions, and choose from different layouts to keep your stream consistent. Some branding options depend on your plan, and the Free plan shows Restream branding.
- Multistreaming: Send the broadcast you prepared to TikTok and other platforms at the same time. The number of channels depends on your plan, and each platform keeps its own features and limits.
- Recordings: On paid plans, Restream saves your stream recordings so you can download them or cut short clips with the trimmer. Storage limits depend on your plan.
What you need to stream to TikTok with Restream
TikTok decides who can go live through third-party tools like Restream. LIVE access in the TikTok mobile app or in TikTok LIVE Studio doesn’t guarantee access through Restream. According to Restream’s help center, TikTok currently requires at least 50% of your recent content to be gaming-related for this type of access, and you need to keep that ratio after approval.
There are two ways to connect. The native connection lets you log in to TikTok, authorize Restream, and apply for access if you aren’t approved yet. If TikTok has given you a stream key, you can add TikTok as a Custom RTMP channel instead. Custom RTMP doesn’t replace TikTok’s eligibility requirements.
How to start streaming to TikTok with Restream
- Create a Restream account: Sign up for free at Restream.io.
- Connect TikTok and check your access: On the Restream home screen, click Channels, then Add New and TikTok Live. Log in to TikTok and authorize Restream. If you see “Streaming not allowed,” TikTok hasn’t approved your account yet: click Apply to send a request.

- Go live once your access is approved: When TikTok has approved your access and your layout is ready, click Go Live. Keep the TikTok monitor open to follow chat, views, and follows during your stream.

Can I stream to TikTok from my browser?
Yes. Restream Studio is browser-based TikTok live software, so you can create and run a vertical TikTok stream without installing an app. TikTok still needs to approve your account for third-party streaming before you can go live through Restream.
Can I use Restream on PC and Mac?
Yes. Restream Studio works in a supported desktop browser on Windows and macOS. This is separate from TikTok LIVE Studio, TikTok’s own desktop app for Windows. Having access to TikTok LIVE Studio doesn’t automatically give you access through Restream.
Do I need OBS to stream to TikTok with Restream?
No. Restream Studio lets you build and run your stream in the browser. If you already use OBS for scenes, game capture, or overlays, you can connect OBS to Restream and let Restream deliver the stream to TikTok.
Do I need a TikTok stream key?
Not for the native connection: you log in to TikTok and authorize Restream. If TikTok has given you a stream key, you can add it as a Custom RTMP channel instead. Restream doesn’t issue TikTok stream keys, and RTMP doesn’t bypass TikTok’s requirements.
Can I stream to TikTok and other platforms at the same time?
Yes. Once TikTok approves your access, you can send one broadcast to TikTok and other channels at once. The number of channels depends on your Restream plan. Every destination receives the same stream, so plan your layout with all of them in mind.
Where can I read TikTok chat while streaming?
Keep the TikTok live monitor open in a separate browser tab or window. It shows your TikTok chat, views, and new follows during the stream, so you can respond to viewers while you broadcast from Restream.
