TikTok live streams are real-time broadcasts that people can watch on the TikTok app. If you want to go live on TikTok, you must meet two basic requirements:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have at least 1,000 followers
Once you have 1,000 followers, you can live stream from your mobile device using the TikTok app. TikTok also allows some users to go live on a desktop or laptop computer too, but you have to have access to RTMP streaming or TikTok LIVE Studio. Not all TikTok users have this access, even if they have more than 1,000 followers.
If you’re over 18 years of age, you can also access TikTok’s virtual gifts. These essentially allow viewers to send you donations, which you can cash out later.
